Anastasia Nevin - Nutritionist and Yoga Teacher
Anastasia Nevin MS, RDN, RYT is a Nutrition Therapist and Yoga Instructor who specializes in the relationship between body, food, and eating. Anastasia uses a non-diet, body positive and holistic approach and incorporates mindfulness, movement and body awareness with food behaviors, guiding clients to learn how to nourish themselves physically and spiritually.
Anastasia graduated from Stanford University with Honors in Psychology. She went on to complete her Masters in Nutrition Education at Columbia University, and worked in both outpatient and Eating Disorder treatment program settings. Prior to opening her practice, Anastasia was the Lead Nutritionist and Yoga Therapist at Monte Nido’s EDTNY (Eating Disorder Treatment of New York).
Anastasia offers one-on-one nutrition counseling and runs therapeutic groups, empowering her clients to heal their relationship to food. She uses a non-diet, body positive and holistic approach. Anastasia also teaches dynamic vinyasa flow classes at her beloved home studio Laughing Lotus. She is trained in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda (India’s holistic medicine system) & Restorative Yoga, and incorporates body-centered healing into an integrative, therapeutic approach. She is a regular contributor to the website Recovery Warriors and wellness site Sonima.
Anastasia is the owner of Anastasia Health LLC, and she is actively engaged with IAEDP New York Chapter (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals), the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians, The Academy for Eating Disorders, and Dietitians in Integrative & Functional Medicine and Nutrition Entrepreneurs dietetic practice groups. Anastasia is also a member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND).
Yoga: Anastasia believes that one must nourish the body, mind and soul, and therefore provides guidance through her yoga practice in addition to counseling. She uniquely combines her love for dynamic, vibrant flow classes with her devotion to the deeper and subtler healing aspects of spiritual practice. She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in NYC, where she has been teaching for the past 8 years. Anastasia infuses her Vinyasa style group classes with a more therapeutic approach from her background and training in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and Restorative Yoga.
